  • Be accountable to each other; continually remember death and fearing final accountability to Allah.

History

In 1989 Daarul Arqam was established to cater to the needs of the growing Muslim community of central Edmonton.  Initial facilities consisted of a leased coat factory, where a handful of Muslims offered salaat and partook in Dawah activities.

By the grace of Allah Almighty, from these humble beginnings, the congregation had grown exponentially.  In 1998 Masjid Quba was established at 11517 – 105 Ave.

Since inception, Masjid Quba has served an ethnically diverse population including Muslims of Middle Eastern, African, Asian and European origin.

Masjid Quba was required to relocate to resolve zoning and parking issues raised by the City of Edmonton.   After an exhaustive search, a new location was found at 10210 – 118 Ave.  The new location is an auditorium with a main floor of 15000 sq. ft. and a mezzanine level (after addition) of 5500 sq. ft.

FUNERAL SERVICES

Mission: Provide low-cost funeral services to Muslims.

We have arranged to provide a lower cost alternative to the funeral services that are currently provided by the Islamic Funeral Society.  We are striving to lower the cost further by purchasing a funeral coach and registering as funeral director/funeral home with Alberta Funeral Regulatory Board.

Outreach - Hospital

During times of deep trial, despair, and sadness, Muslims seek comfort and guidance in the words of Allah in the Qur'an.  Allah reminds us that all people will be tried and tested in life, and calls upon Muslims to bear these trials with "patient perseverance and prayer."  Indeed, Allah reminds us that many people before us have suffered and had their faith tested; so too will we be tried and tested in this life.

"Seek Allah's help with patient perseverance and prayer. It is indeed hard except for those who are humble." (Qur’an 2:45)

For family and friends who are requesting an Imam to visit their sick loved ones.  Please contact Masjid Quba: Jama Masjid – Edmonton or call us 780-426-6373

📑
Outreach - Prison

We all make mistakes and we all must reflect on the fact that without Allah’s guidance we are all lost.  Within the framework of Islam, there is much room for reconciliation between a person and themselves, their fellow human beings, their family, their greater community and of course their Lord.

Reasons we have the Prison Outreach Program:

  • To help fellow human beings.
  • To present an unbiased understanding of Islam to prisoners who seek to learn, hence, giving them a vehicle to reintegrate back into society by being more spiritual human beings and productive citizens.
  • To help Canada deal with offenders in a structured fashion so that they do not reoffend and thus, become law-abiding citizens.
  • We find it as our duty as Muslims to contribute back into society by helping prisoners stand on their feet and regain their integrity. We believe that everyone deserves a second chance to do the right thing.
