This is our 6th year running the Keep Us Warm Winter Program, which raises funds to provide new jackets and winter essentials like hats, scarves, gloves, and socks to underprivileged community members. Over the last 6 years, we’ve donated 1,350 jackets and 68,000 winter essentials, benefiting nearly 45,000 people in Windsor.

This year, our goal is to raise $7,000 to cover the cost of 200 jackets at $35 each. Half of these jackets will be distributed through ISWA to help the Muslim community in need. The other half will be shared with the greater Windsor community through our distribution partners, such as Downtown Mission, Centre Communautaire Francophone, Nisa Homes, Welcome Center for Women, and others as needed.

Please note that we don’t accept donations of used clothing, but Downtown Mission, Diabetes Canada, and other community organizations are happy to accept them.

Not only is this program helpful for those in need, it’s also an amazing form of dawah, allowing us to share our warmth and kindness with everyone in our city. Each year, our program is recognized on CBC, CTV, and other news outlets.
